California Prop 65

California Proposition 65 Warning

Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that requires businesses to provide clear warnings to California consumers when their products may expose users to certain chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

The law is administered by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), which maintains and regularly updates a list of over 850 chemicals that fall under Proposition 65 regulation. In August 2016, OEHHA adopted updated labeling requirements, effective August 30, 2018, which impact the way businesses must present Proposition 65 warnings.

We are providing the following notice to comply with Proposition 65 requirements:

⚠️ WARNING: This product may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Motor Vehicle-Related Products

California requires the following additional warning for motor vehicles and automotive components:

⚠️ WARNING: Motor vehicles contain fuel, oils, fluids, battery posts, terminals, and related components that include lead, lead compounds, and other chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm. These chemicals are present in both new and replacement vehicle parts. Routine maintenance activities can also produce used oil, waste fluids, grease, fumes, and particulates—all of which may contain Proposition 65-listed substances.
