Product & Installation
Q: What materials are your exhaust systems made of?
A: We manufacture our systems using high-grade T304 stainless steel and premium titanium. These materials offer excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and performance under high heat.
Q: Should I choose stainless steel or titanium?
A: It depends on your usage and vehicle design. Titanium is lightweight and delivers a more resonant, aggressive exhaust tone—ideal for street performance and show cars. However, for racing or prolonged high-heat use, T304 stainless steel is often more reliable. Titanium cannot be easily bent, so multiple welds are required for tight curves like 90-degree bends. On vehicles with complex exhaust routing, this can compromise durability under extreme heat. For simpler layouts, titanium remains a strong and stylish option.
Q: Will the exhaust rust over time?
A: Our T304 stainless steel and titanium systems are highly corrosion-resistant, but not 100% rust-proof. Unlike stainless steel household items like pots, exhaust systems are exposed to extreme weather, road salt, and debris. To help prevent surface rust, we recommend rinsing the exhaust regularly and cleaning it with soapy water. With proper care, your system will maintain its appearance and performance.
Q: Are your exhaust systems direct bolt-on?
A: Most of our systems are designed for direct bolt-on fitment unless otherwise noted. However, some older or modified vehicles may require minor adjustments during installation.
Q: Do I need professional installation?
A: While some customers choose to install our systems themselves, we highly recommend professional installation. Exhaust systems can be difficult to balance—especially when using a floor jack—and often require two people to align and hold components in place, even on a professional lift. For the best fitment, performance, and to avoid issues like vibrations or exhaust leaks, having a trained installer is the safest and most efficient option—particularly for vehicles with aged hardware or rusted bolts.
Q: Can your exhaust tips be adjusted?
A: Yes, most of our systems feature adjustable exhaust tip sections with clamps. For systems without clamp-on tips, keep all bolts loose at first and tighten both sides gradually and evenly. This ensures proper alignment and a safe distance from the bumper or fender liner.
Q: What if I have installation issues?
A: If you encounter any installation questions or fitment issues, please contact our customer service team before modifying or cutting the exhaust system. Any modifications will void the return eligibility, and we will not accept returns for altered items.
Shipping & Orders
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes, we ship worldwide. Duties and taxes may apply depending on the destination country and are the buyer’s responsibility unless prepaid during checkout.
Q: How long does shipping take?
A: Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days. U.S. deliveries usually take 2–5 business days. International transit times vary based on location and customs processing.
Q: Why was I billed for duty/tax after delivery (for international orders)?
A: For international orders, some carriers—such as FedEx or DHL—may release packages to the recipient without collecting duties and taxes upfront. If these charges go unpaid, the carrier may later bill the shipper instead. To avoid such issues, please make sure all applicable duties and taxes are paid at the time of delivery.
Returns, Exchanges & Warranty
Q: What is your return policy?
A: We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for unused products in original condition. Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility unless the return is due to our error.
Q: What if my item arrives damaged?
A: Please inspect packages upon arrival and notify us within 48 hours. Be sure to provide photos of the damage so we can file a claim and send a replacement if necessary.
Q: Do your products come with a warranty?
A: Yes. Most exhaust systems come with a limited one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Warranty does not cover installation damage or wear and tear from racing or misuse.
❓ Valve & Actuator FAQs
Q: Why is my exhaust valve kit not responding?
A: It’s usually one of two issues—a stuck valve flap (due to carbon buildup) or a faulty vacuum actuator. If the flap moves easily but nothing happens, the actuator is likely at fault.
Q: How do I test if the actuator is functional?
A: Use a handheld vacuum pump to apply –10 inHg to the actuator port. A working actuator will move its rod smoothly and hold vacuum for at least 30 seconds, then return the rod when released. If it fails any of these steps, it should be replaced.
Q: Why do actuators fail more often than valve flaps?
A: Actuators use a rubber diaphragm inside that degrades from heat and pressure—especially in rear-engine cars or tuned vehicles. Valve flaps are made of stainless steel and rarely fail; they primarily need cleaning.
Q: Are there different actuator types to watch for?
A: Yes—Top Speed Pro1 offers both 2‑bolt and 3‑bolt actuators. They function the same internally but differ in mounting stability and fitment.
Q: Can I replace just the actuator instead of the full exhaust kit?
A: Absolutely. Keep the original flap if it’s clean and functioning. Top Speed Pro1 sells both 2‑bolt and 3‑bolt actuators as replacements.
